Residents of Port Orange have no problem gaining access to water as its eastern section directly faces the Halifax River. Besides relaxing at the beach, one can also cool off at Riverwalk Park which features outdoor playgrounds and a great splash park for kids.

Large swaths of green spaces can be found in Port Orange where people can commune with nature. Among these is Spruce Creek Park – one of the largest parks in Volusia County that offers more than three miles of walking and hiking routes, a paddling trail, and a 15-foot observation tower. Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens, for its part, is both a historical site as this used to be an old sugar plantation. Today, you’ll find a botanical garden here. Then there’s Port Orange Causeway Park where one can encounter the local wildlife up close. It also features a boat ramp facility.

Golf enthusiasts have great options in Port Orange, such as Crane Lakes GolF and Country Club and The GolF Club at Cypress Head.
